Description
Bloody walls at Seppeltsfield Winery
This mausoleum houses the remains of the Seppelt family. Oscar Benno Seppelt brought his family here from Prussia (now Poland) in 1849 to escape bad times in their homeland. After trying his hand at tobacco and wheat, Seppelt moved on to wine making, of which he knew more about. The winery grew to become the biggest producer of wine in the country. And while this sounds like a good story, the hauntings here prove there is something more to the story.
On the anniversaries of the family members' deaths, the interior walls of the mausoleum become mysteriously wet with blood. It is said that Seppelt spent the last years of his life in isolation, thus driving him to insanity. As for the other family members, the blood cannot be explained–perhaps it's just wine? Don't expect to see those walls when you come visit; they keep the mausoleum locked for that reason.
